Session 1

Daniel Celeghin 
Partner, Head of Asia-Pacific, Casey, Quirk & Associates

Daniel Celeghin is responsible for the firm’s client relationships and on-going research for Asia-Pacific, based in Hong Kong. He has covered Asia-Pacific since 2005, and his regional project experience includes: asset management ownership and remuneration practices, operational model benchmarking, alternatives product development, distribution organization design and “go-to-market” strategy, as well as M&A deal sourcing and due diligence support. Mr. Celeghin has also served as practice leader for alternative managers, and developed the firm’s proprietary frameworks for evaluating non-traditional investment processes. In 2010, he was named one of Institutional Investor’s Hedge Fund Rising Stars. He earned a B.S. in operations research and industrial engineering from Cornell University.

Alex Hideki Sato 
President and CEO, Invesco Asset Management (Japan) Limited

Alex Hideki Sato has been President and CEO of Invesco Asset Management (Japan) since September 2012. Prior to joining Invesco, he worked with FIL Investments Japan Ltd. (Fidelity Japan), serving as executive officer, Division Head of Intermediary Sales from 2008. Previously, he worked for Goldman Sachs Asset Management Co., Ltd. from 1999 and assumed the position of head of Institutional Sales in 2005. He began his career in Mitsui & Co., Ltd. in 1993. In 1994, he joined Westdeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale as an interest rate trader located in the Tokyo branch and relocated to the Singapore branch in 1998. He earned a B.A. in commerce from Keio University in Japan.

Session 3

Kenji Kodama, CMA 
CEO, Tokio Marine Asset Management International Pte.Ltd.

Kenji Kodama is Chief Executive Officer of Tokio Marine Asset Management International Pte.Ltd. (TMAI), a subsidiary of Tokio Marine Asset Management Co. Ltd. (TMA). He joined Tokio Marine and Nichido Fire Insurance Co. Ltd. (“TMNF”) in 1990 and was seconded to Tokio Marine Asset Management Co. Ltd. (“TMA”) where he spent four years as an analyst before moving to TMNF’s Hong Kong office to be assigned as a portfolio manager covering Asian equity markets from 1994 to 2000. In 2007 he was reassigned to TMA as General Manager of Corporate Planning, and in July 2013 he was appointed CEO of TMAI.

Peter Alexander 
Managing Director, Z-Ben Advisors

Peter Alexander is Managing Director of Z-Ben Advisors, which provides independent analysis and information to foreign financial institutions interested in the development of China's investment management industry. He has actively participated in China's investment management industry for more than 20 years and has worked on two different joint venture initiatives. His first project began in 1998 assisting US-based Nationwide Financial to enhance its partnership with Shenyin Wanguo Securities. He then joined Prudential Financial in 2001 with the same goal of establishing a joint venture fund management company with Everbright Securities. It was during his time with Prudential that he realized that the need for independent research on China's investment management industry was growing, and then decided to establish Z-Ben Advisors. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and resides in Shanghai.

Moderator

Sadayuki Horie 
Senior Researcher, Financial Technology & Market Research Department, Nomura Research Institute

Sadayuki Horie is a senior researcher at NRI in Tokyo, the largest think tank in Japan. In 1986, he developed the Nomura BPI, which is now the industry standard.During 1986-88, he developed exotic option models and other quantitative models in the New York office. From 1996 to 2001, he was head of the quantitative group of Nomura Asset Management, managing over $1bn through GTAA & currency funds. Since 2001, he has worked on pension fund consulting and advanced asset management research. Mr. Horie has written many articles for the Security Analysts Journal and other journals in the last 33 years. He is deputy chairman of the Investment Advisory Committee of GPIF and a visiting professor of the graduate school of Osaka University of Economics. He graduated from the Kobe University of Commerce.
