The ACIIA® is a non-profit association established in June 2000 and its registered office is located in Buelach Zurich, Switzerland. Its role is to establish and supervise the professional examinations for the CIIA® diploma and to award the qualification. The objective of the association is to provide a flexible, internationally recognized qualification, which examines candidates at a high standard and in a practical fashion in the topic areas that are necessary to pursue a career in the investment profession, and in so doing:
- To encourage and provide a forum for the creation and interchange of ideas and information in the finance and investment field;
- To support and promote the interests of the investment community
- And to promote ethical behaviour in the industry.
Membership of the ACIIA includes 2 Federations (EFFAS and ASIF) and 31 national/regional societies: those of Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, China, Chinese Taipei, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Iran, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Korea, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, and Ukraine.
In addition, many expressions of interest are coming in from all over the world. Several interested societies have attended ACIIA General Meetings and are considering ways in which they could participate in the ACIIA in the future.

As an important ACIIA® society, SAAJ participates in producing CIIA® examinations, study guides, and guidelines based on “ Common Knowledge Base(CKB® )”, and various bylaws regarding the ACIIA/CIIA administration.
